• Can't Update to Logic 10.5

  If you're a working professional currently using LogicProX 10.4.7 on Mojave BEWARE. The AppStore won't let you update to 10.5 ! Since Apple released Big Sur the App Store hasn't functioned properly. It won't give you the option of updating to the 'latest compatible version' for your system anymore. I've been dealing with Apple on this for a month and still no fix. Ableton 11 is looking more and more appealing.

• The DAW with the best ecosystem

  Logic is extremely powerful and accessible for nearly everyone. Apple has done an amazing job introducing the masses to music produciton with Garageband and the familiar interface of Logic really bridges the two programs. If you can't produce exactly the track you want in logic, its you, not the DAW.

  I've used almost every DAW out there, and I keep coming back to Logic. It's intuitve, stable, resiliant. What more could you ask for. I'm coming back to it after a 5 year hiatus and wow - the new Live Loop section gives Ableton a run for their money. Really cool.

• 10.6 still has static

  I was working in a project when I heard a very loud noise that made me slam my headphones to the ground. When I checked the output, it had peaked to over 700 past 0. This was not only damaging to my equipment, but could have impacted my hearing as well. This is not what I expect in a professional quality DAW. This issue is STILL present in 10.6 and I am on a brand new MacBook Pro this time around on Big Sur.

  If you are a student at a school you can get the education bundle which has Logic pro, Final Cut and Motion all for 200 dollars i think. if you get it through that then this is a great bang for your buck.

• 10.6 & 10.6.1 update Not So good.

  I updated from 10.5 to 10.6 not good. so i updated to10.6.1 hoping things would be better. NOPE! it keeps crashing.spinning beachball. Or it says increase buffer or change core threading in prefferences. Still same result crash!!! Thank God I backup 10.5 and use it No problem with it. What gives???? Very, very frustrating!! I'm running a 2020 Mac Pro 12 core.

• DO NOT UPGRADE!!!

  I had a terrible time the first time I opened this most updated version (10.6.1). Now I felt so regretful that I turned on the automated update on and didn't back up the old version. I don't know if this is a bug or they just simply changed the default setting, but my first midi track always sounds, plays and records together even if I was choosing another midi track. I couldn't disable the recording for the first track (yes, the recording icon is always red on!). A temperory solution is to just keep the first track empty without any instrument, which is really really stupid. Do not upgrade unless you want to suffer from this as well. And please let me know if this is a bug or I am just being a fool.

  I paid for this. I have a new 2020 macbook optioned up to the max. But this program just brings up the splash screen and sit there spinning forever, claiming that it is 'Updating information about Audio Unit plug-ins.'. This never finishes.

• The new update has made Logic worthless

  I'm a big fan of logic and have been user for a couple years, but this new update is full of glitches. Not only most of the 3rd part plugins crash everytime I try using Logic, the UI itself gets random glitches and also crashes time to time if I plug in my headphones or my guitar. Apple/Logic team really needs to fix this asap. I still can't believe this update was made available with such obvious glitches all around.
